Dru - Radioactive (Mix Tape)

Dru’s roots lay in dear Florida, but it’s no casual observation that the result is bursting with creativity. From smooth soul numbers to the glimmers of R&B hits such as “Roll With Me” and even major powerful forces amongst hip-hop & rap hits such as “I want it all” & “Money” Dru has revolutionized not only his generation but also this era.

Renessis "Sunsets" Instrumental album 5 year anniversary

So let us hope that you chose to listen before you read. With that being said, it is truly amazing that this discreet debut release still has not gotten more attention through these past 5 years. Renessis' first Instrumental album, produced solely by himself, is a beautiful collection of samples arranged over heavy well-placed drum patterns done through the MPC60. Yup, the 12-bit MPC60. Originally a hard copy release with distribution through a no longer existent company, Renessis brings you the re-release available now. Please go have a listen.

Big Sofa ~ "Time Wasters & Cheap Thrills" (from upcoming EP)

Do you like weed Naps? do you enjoy listening to music while you weed nap? If so come take a nap on Big Sofa, the latest project from our homies at Savage Tribe Familia. By far their lowest bankrolled project ever it still sounds clean and funky, the fun they were having while recording these tracks comes through in the mix. This is a return to good times music fresh for the 2011 summer party season. Tribesmen Butcher Baker baker keeps it clean and bouncy on production , while Sav spits debouchery with his patended ”go for mine every time” style. Thier is nothin like good old fashioned Sex, Drugs and Rock-Roll athems to get us all in the mindstate we wait all week to be in. Sav and Butcher Baker are not reponsible for any party fouls or pregnancies that occur during listening to this album. Time Wasters & Cheap Thrills coming soon to http://savagetribe.bandcamp.com/

You can also catch Sav and Baker doing the official live broadcast for this years S.L.U.M.fest (Saint Louis Underground Music Festival) at Atomic Cowboy on June 18th. This markes the return of the newly revamped RawCore Radio Show. for more info on S.L.U.M. Fest check herehttp://www.atomiccowboystl.com/wordpress/?p=510

It has been a year since SaV! & Renessis of the Savage Tribe Familia tossed up the S.T.L.A. movement with volumes 1 & 2 of the UAINTKNW? project, featuring artists from Saint Louis, MO to Los Angeles, CA. They succeeded in building up a name & left listeners still wanting more after volume 2 was released. As of now, SaV! has released 2 Instrumental projects as well as an EP with Producer Phaseone entitled, R&R (Remixes & Renditions), but there is no word on if or when there will be a UAINTKNW? volume 3.
You can download all available releases at the Familias' Bandcamp page, or find them at any & all mix tape hosting websites for free.

Tyler the Creator "GOBLIN" album release 05.10.11 ~ OFWGKTA ~

Tyler the Creator has made a name for himself as well as his crew OFWGKTA in the past couple years working with Earl Sweatshirt & death juice, to Hodgy Beats & Left Brains' MellowHype, & Tylers' infamous debut "Bastard".

So now its making a jump from Fat Possum Records to XL for a one album deal to get the type of exposure they really need for this upcoming release of "Goblin", which drops May 5th 2011. They also have a limited deluxe edition of the album that you can pre-order now.

SaV! "VERSES" sneak peak leak (mixed version)

SaV! dropped us a little preview of some new projects in the works & gave us the go ahead to toss up this sneak peak leak of "VERSES", an upcoming project of unreleased songs & remixes, that will also be mixed by DJ Spec.

Kelly Rowland "Motivation" ft. Lil' Wayne (music video)

Little late on the jump with this one. I guess the Nelly feature was taking all the shine away from this record right here. Frankly, this is the jam on bread.

Wiz Khalifa "Smokin' Strong" the mixtape (No DJ Version)

I'm sure most of you copped the "Cabin Fever" mixtape, which was the prequel to Wizs' upcoming debut album "Rolling Papers", due out March 29th. I wasn't impressed at all with Cabin Fever & was quite disappointed, so when I seen this project Smokin' Strong, which contains most of early material as well as songs from the upcoming album, plus some remixes & unreleased tracks, I was hesitant but gave it a chance. This is something you could replace Cabin Fever with, or just a nice edition to add to your Wiz collection.

Timbaland ft. Lyrica Anderson - 'Mentally"

After hearing the "808" record featuring Brandy I knew we was going to hear something fresh yet again from Timbo. I'm not very familiar with Lyrica Anderson, but this song has me stuck on Youtube trying to find more material.

Snoop Dogg - "I Don't Need No Bitch" ft. Devin the Dude & Kobe Honeycutt

This is a much better song than the single "Wet" from Snoops' upcoming album "Doggumentary", due out March 29th. They also have "Gangbang Rookie" in heavy rotation on several Internet radio shows we've noticed. This song shuts them all down, not to mention it has a much heavier West coast sound than the other singles, & also features Devin the Dude. I haven't heard him on a good Snoop record since "Fuck You" on Dres' "2001".

Kool G Rap "Offer You Can't Refuse" free Ep

Be sure to go pick up this free Ep from Kool G Rap from his official website below.

This is quite a solid project to keep fans on edge before his highly anticipated album release "Riches, Royalty, & Respect" drops April 19th. It's worth getting just for the Alchemist production on "America's Nightmare" which also features a verse from Mobb Deeps' Havoc.

10 Projects You Need from 2010

Indiana Rome "Who The Hell Left The Gate Open"
release date: 10.26.10

Indiana Rome has both a message and a hammer to slap the game with, and over these rattlin' riddims, he doesn't fail. You've got some enlightening anthems right up against some get money slappers, and it all works. Featuring Force affiliates like Tef Poe, Tech Supreme, Corey Black, Rockwell Knuckles and many more.Curse whomever left that gate open - a midwestern storm has entered...

Hearskra-Z "Carnival of Sols"

release date: 06.15.2010

HearsKra-Z has crafted a unique style of his own. Carnival of Sols represents the best of hip-hop while solidly establishing Kra-Z as a new voice in the genre. Definitely a contender for best upbeat summer album.

Download "Carnival of Sols"

Wiz Khalifa "Kush & Orange Juice"
release date: 04.14.2010

Hands down one of Khalifas' best projects. Period. If your not much of a weed smoker though it doesn't hit home as close to those packin' up those bowls with bubblin' kief.

Nipsey Hussle "The Marathon"
release date: 12.22.2010

Well I was definitely contemplating downloading this new mixtape from Nipsey Hussle because I had downloaded his last mixtape ‘Bullet’s Don’t Have Name’s Vol. 3′ when it was released last year & wasn’t very impressed, but I kept hearing this mixtape was a lot better and had some cool concepts with the different songs on it, so I decided to give it a chance & check it out! I don’t regret checking it out because there are for sure bangers that even made it on my ‘New Music’ playlist via my itunes like “Love”, “Key 2 The City”, “A Million”, “I Be Killen”, “Call From The Bank” feat. MGMT & many more dope tracks. Besides Game & Tyga, Nipsey Hussle is definitely the next wave of new artist coming from the West Coast & keeping their coast afloat with DOPE music.

SAV "Padded Soul"
release date: 07.14.2010

SaV brings you threw his favorite parts of his favorite Soul songs using the MPC 2000XL.
This project is basically a chopped up version of a Soul music compilation from the late 60's to late 70's. The MPC version of a compilation.

Rockwell Knuckles "Choose Your Own Adventure"
release date: 03.16.2010

Fresh sounds that expertly balanced commercial and lyrical hip-hop. In other words, I highly recommend you check it out. With tracks like "Shooting Star" and "Government Name' building momentum, it may just be a matter of time before Knuckles becomes a household name.
And I won't site here and let you tell me that you didn't cheat when you were reading those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books back in the day. You know you were flipping through the pages like the rest of us. Don't front.

Roc Marciano "Marcberg"
release date: 05.04.2010

In an industry full of copycats and kittens, Roc Marciano is poised to become the undisputed champ. Marcberg is a hard-hitting, unremorseful classic based on the same code of ethics that made the golden era so immaculate. Forget Little Mac; Roc Marciano is the one wearing the title belt.

Nato Caliph "Reach"
release date: 08.09.2010

If the rap gods have any sense of justice, Nato Caliph will go down in history as St. Louis' equivalent to Common.

Black Spade "To Build & Destroy"
release date: 07.18.2010

Although he’s released more than his fair share of material either as a solo artist and with Hawthorne Headhunters, Black spade has never dropped a mixtape, unlike most artists in today’s landscape. I should know because I’ve been buggin’ him for years to be the ones to push one if he ever decided to. And that time has finally come.

Tef Poe "Money Never Sleeps"
release date: 03.11.2010

Here is Tef Poe’s newest project called Money Never Sleeps. This project is presented by The Smoking Section and Trackstar the DJ. Guest appearances by Bryant Stewart, Theresa Payne, Teresa Jenee, and Rockwell Knuckles. Beats by Tech Supreme, Rome, Trifeckta, Nodzilla and more. Download and enjoy.

After Over A Year hiatus.. We're Back!

RawCore Radio is officially back from it's year+ hiatus, doing what they have done best; dropping those ill Hip-Hop, Rap, & R&B records 24/7-365. NO commercials. NO plugs. NO talking. Period. Honorable deejays such as Spec, Motts, Needles, Red Alert, Splitface, Mahf, & Secret Code have had featured mixes or even took the time out to donate "custom mixes", specifically formated for the show.
RawCore Radio was started in 2006 by SAV & DJ Spec of the Basement Sound System. RawCore has gradually built a strong listening base with the ever so steady format of mixing classic records while supporting Independent artists.
2010 brings new hosts, new formats & more music than ever to RawCore Radio. Butcher Baker, the new host & Program Director, will be picking up where everything was left in May 2009.
You can tune in now, or anytime to the 24/7 stream here by clicking the flier or link below.
